fl February 28, 2008
SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY
LANGE PROPERTY
551, 1001 AND 1525 EAST JAHANT ROAD
ACAMPO, CALIFORNIA
OUR PROJECT NUMBER: LGS080011
V1.0 INTRODUCTION AND PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
Our office was contracted by Brad Lange of Langetwins Limited Partnership to conduct a soil
suitability study for the property at 551, 1001 and 1525 East Jahant Road, Acampo, California.
The soil suitability study (SSS) was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for
use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of Section
9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. A major element of the field work
included conducting percolation tests that meet the required absorption rates as required by
San Joaquin County, Public Health Services, Environmental Health Department (EHD).
In addition to conducting the percolation tests, a review of published soil information, geologic
maps, and ground water information was performed to evaluate the suitability of soils for use
with a septic system.
The formatting of this report has been designed to follow, to the greatest degree possible, the
END's Soil Suitability Study Requirements Checklist, dated 3uly 14, 2003.
:.1 Site Description
The Assessor's Parcel Numbers (APNs) for the Site are 003-140-03 & -05, 003-150-08. The
subject property is approximately 400 acres in size (Plate 1). The county application number is
currently pending. The site is agricultural property planted in vineyard, with scattered oaks and
wetland, created by Jahant Slough, which meanders in an east west direction through the
middle of the entire property.
The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic map, is
about 25 to 45 feet above mean sea level. The land is fairly level, but slopes down towards
Jahant Slough which meanders in an east west direction through the middle of the property.
According to the San Joaquin County Community Development Department (www.co.san-
joaquin.ca.us), the subject property is zoned AG -40, with general agriculture with a minimum
parcel size of 40 acres. This zoning designation "is established to preserve agricultural lands for
the continuation of commercial agricultural enterprises."
902 Industrial Way - Lodi, CA 95240. 209.367.3701 - Fax 209.369.4228 ©2008 Nei!
