Mining Plan
1. Operating Plan
Excavation will commence within IS months after obtaining a permit and will terminate with total
reclamation within 11 years, dependent upon demand for materials. Excavation occurs approximately
180 days in a year. Weather conditions and market factors can alter this approximation. Excavation
activity typically occurs between March—October each year. Excavation will be limited to a weekly
schedule of Monday—Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., except during periods of declared national, state,
or county emergency or inclement weather.
2,3.Topsoil 1 Overburden
Topsoil / Overburden is stripped, set aside temporarily, then replaced concurrent with excavation.
There will be no stockpiles. Excavation is by the open pit method commencing at the Northeast corner
of Phase I, moving in a Westerly direction, then returning in a West to East configuration. Excavation
depths average f25'. Overburden ranges in depth from 0' to f15', with sand and gravel depths
averaging from±7' to f10'.
Equipment to be used at the project site consists of:
■ Scrapers/Dozers to remove overburden
■ Backhoe/Excavator to remove sand and gravel
■ Trucks to transport materials to the existing processing facility on the North side of the
Mokelumne River.
■ Motor Grader and Scraper to level and contour site for final reclamation
■ Water Truck to spread water within project area for dust control
