PA-02-182 OF GEORGE READ,INC. <br /> (APN-019-220-40) <br /> The project is a Quarry Excavation to remove approximately one million cubic yards of rock,sand and <br /> gravel from approximately 89 acres in three phases over a period of l 1 years.The site is located <br /> approximately 1,000 feet north of State Route 12188, directly north of the north terminus of Atkins Road, <br /> northwest of Clements. The Mokelumne River borders the site on the north. <br /> This item is tentatively scheduled for the Planning Commission of October 3,2002, The Community <br /> Development Department intends to recommend that the Planning Commission approve the project with <br /> the following conditions: <br /> Quarry Excavation Application No. was approved by the Planning Commission on , The effective date <br /> of approval is. This approval will expire on,which is 18 months from the date of approval,unless(I)all <br /> Conditions of Approval have been complied with, (2) all necessary building permits have been secured <br /> and remain in force,and(3)all necessary permits from other agencies have been secured and remain in <br /> force. <br /> Unless otherwise specified, all Conditions of Approval and ordinance requirements shall be fulfilled <br /> prior to the establishment of the use and the issuance of any building permits. Those Conditions <br /> followed by a Section Number have been identified as ordinance requirements pertinent to this <br /> application. Ordinance requirements cannot be modified; and, other ordinance requirements may <br /> apply. <br /> 1) COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT (Staff Contact:Chander Martin,468-3144) <br /> a) APPROVED USE:This approval is for a Quarry Excavation to remove approximately one million <br /> cubic yards of rock, sand and gravel from approximately 89 acres in three phases over a period of <br /> 11 years as shown on the plans dated May 3,2002 and the reclamation plan dated June 28,2002. <br /> E .L <br /> b) RIPARIAN HABITAT: Parallel to the Mokelumne River, a natural open space area for riparian <br /> habitat and waterway protection shall be maintained to provide nesting and foraging habitat and the <br /> protection of waterway quality. The minimum width of said open space shall be one-hundred(100) <br /> feet, measured from the mean high water level of the natural bank or fifty (50) feet back from the <br /> existing riparian habitat,whichever is greater. Water-dependent uses may be permitted in this buffer. <br /> The mean high water level and the edge of the riparian habitat shall be shown on.the Site Plan. The <br /> open space buffer required above shall be shown on the Site Plans with the following note: <br />
