This category includes those areas where there are high quality soils and
water is or expected to be available for irrigation, thus enabling prime land to remain in
agricultural production. It also includes those foothill pasture areas which, while not
considered prime agricultural soils, support livestock production and are intended to
remain in agricultural use. This designation allows 1 to 1-6 32 primary dwelling units per
160 gross acres. The population density is approximately 3 to 49 96 persons per 160
gross acres.
'Population density is based on an average of approximately 3 persons per household in San Joaquin
County. The actual population in a given area may vary from the above ranges depending on the number
of persons per household.
