- 2 -
San Joaquin County November 21, 1991
Attn: Mr. Jim Miller
Subject: Proposed Zone Reclassification Application
Soil Suitability Study
Max Lee Property - Jahant Road
Attached is a copy of percolation tests performed on
November 8 and 13 , 1991, by R. W. Siegfried & Associates,
Consulting Civil Engineers. These test holes reveal that the
surface soils are underlain by a mixture of sandy and San Joaquin
loam soils of a depth of approximately 3 feet. The observed
percolation rates were 27 . 8 , 41 . 7 , 41 . 7 , 50. 0, 50 . 0, and
41. 7 minutes per inch for test holes 1, 2 , 3 , 4 , 6, and 7 ,
respectively. Per Mr. Mike Huggins, San Joaquin County Public
Health Services Supervising Environmental Health Specialist, an
average percolation rate of 42 . 2 minutes per inch shall be assumed
for test hole 5.
Also attached are copies of two (2) laboratory analyses
results performed on groundwater samples from wells adjacent to the
subject property by FGL Environmental, Analytical Chemists. One
(1) sample was obtained by Mr. Max Lee from a well located at 9324
East Jahant Road, which is opposite the northeast corner of the
subject 36 . 9-acre property. The other sample was obtained by
R. W. Siegfried & Associates from a well location at 23404 North
Bruella Road, which is opposite the southwest corner of the
property. The following is a summary of the nitrate and DBCP
constituents of the above samples:
Nitrate (m4/L) DBCP
9324 East Jahant Rd. 23 Not Detected
23404 N. Bruella Rd. 39 Not Detected
Within a radius of one-fourth (;) mile of the subject
property, there are sixteen (16) existing residences. There is no
known history of septic system failures in this area. It is the
opinion of the undersigned that the soil conditions are suitable
for the purpose of the subject application, which is to create
seven (7) 5-acre parcels which will be developed into future
agricultural homesites, with individual septic tanks and private
wells.
(Cont 'd. )
CILUILT7130.SO
