GOOD EARTH FARMS, LLC <br /> SITE APPROVAL APPLICATION PA-03-14 REVISED 10/03 <br /> PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br /> The project is to produce organic compost from clean green yard waste, on approximately <br /> It acres. The compost will be applied on the owner's vineyards(parcels 023-280-01; 023-280-05; <br /> 023-280-06; 023-100-23; and 023-150-05)which incorporate the project site and adjoining parcels. <br /> The compost will be produced from clean green residential urban yard waste,which will have been <br /> sorted and screened at an offsite certified recycling facility, prior to delivery of the clean green yard <br /> waste to the project site. The clean green yard waste will then be configured into windrows which <br /> will be systematically turned and monitored for temperature and moisture content to create the <br /> proper conditions for the production of compost. Once compost is produced,it will then be removed <br /> from the project site and immediately applied to the vineyards on the above listed parcels,utilizing <br /> conventional spreading equipment. <br /> The project requires the limited presence of employees during the shift period of 6:00 AM <br /> to 6:00 PM. Employees will not be present at all times during the shift. Employees will be on the <br /> site for short durations of time to receive delivery of clean yard waste, to monitor the windrows for <br /> moisture content, temperature, to determine the proper timing to turn the material and thereby <br /> promote the proper aerobic composting process, and to spread the compost on the vineyards. <br /> Note that the project size as stated under the Property and Vicinity Description section of this <br /> application indicates 1.5 f acres, because the access road is included, however the site where the <br /> composting will take place is only approximately if acres. <br />
