GOOD EARTH FARMS, LLC
SITE APPROVAL APPLICATION PA-03-14 REVISED 10/03
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project is to produce organic compost from clean green yard waste, on approximately
It acres. The compost will be applied on the owner's vineyards(parcels 023-280-01; 023-280-05;
023-280-06; 023-100-23; and 023-150-05)which incorporate the project site and adjoining parcels.
The compost will be produced from clean green residential urban yard waste, which will have been
sorted and screened at an offsite certified recycling facility, prior to delivery of the clean green yard
waste to the project site. The clean green yard waste will then be configured into windrows which
will be systematically turned and monitored for temperature and moisture content to create the
proper conditions for the production of compost. Once compost is produced,it will then be removed
from the project site and immediately applied to the vineyards on the above listed parcels, utilizing
conventional spreading equipment.
The project requires the limited presence of employees during the shift period of 6:00 AM
to 6:00 PM. Employees will not be present at all times during the shift. Employees will be on the
site for short durations of time to receive delivery of clean yard waste, to monitor the windrows for
moisture content, temperature, to determine the proper timing to turn the material and thereby
promote the proper aerobic composting process, and to spread the compost on the vineyards.
Note that the project size as stated under the Property and Vicinity Description section of this
application indicates 1.5 f acres, because the access road is included, however the site where the
composting will take place is only approximately if acres.
