Soil Suitability Study 4
Parcel No. Test Hole Percolation Rate Minimum Usable_
No. (Minutes Per Inch) Disposal Area
(Square Feet )
1 P1 (3 ' ) 30 10 ,000
2 P2 (3 ' ) 17 8 ,000
Recommendations :
Effluent is recommended to be discharged into 10 , 000 square
feet and 8 , 000 square feet minimum usable disposal areas for Parcel
Nos . 1. and 2 , respectively, to accommodate subsurface horizontal
leaching fields . However , if the site selected for development is
at a different location than the site tested and due to the
variable nature of the soils in this general area , careful note of
the soil character and nature should be taken at the time of
construction at the specific site selected for a planned septic
system and the discharge of effluent into a combination of leach
lines and seepage pits be considered for use as an alternate
system.
Well Water Analysis :
Four (4 ) samples of well water were taken from two (2 ) sources
on the subject property which were at the agricultural well and at
the homesite well . Two samples , one for nitrate (NO3) and one for
Dibromochloropropane (DBCP) , were taken from each of the sources
for a total of four (4 ) samples . Both wells are situate in the
northeast corner of the subject property. The existing homesite is
also situate in the northeast corner of the forty (40) acre
undivided parcel . The specific locations of both the well and the
homesite are shown on the attached "Parcel Map" .
The results of the tests on the sampled water from the two
sources for Dibromochloropropane (DBCP) and Nitrate (NO3 ) are
tabulated below:
Chemical Constituent Maximum
Contamination_
Level
Dibromochloropropane Nitrate DBCP NO3 __
Source (DBCP) fug/L1 INO31 {mg/L} [ug/L m L
Domestic Well ND* 18 0 . 2 45
(Homesite)
Agricultural Well ND* 12 0 . 2 45
(Northeast Corner)
* ND = Not detected at or above the 0 .01 ug/L detection limit
for reporting purposes (DLR) .
.Tames and Shirley Kauffroath MS-92-149 , Parcel Nos . 1 and 2
