MS-91-100
SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY
Dear Mr. Lamkin:
We are pleased to report the results of our soil suitability study for 24818 North Kennefick
Road. This soil suitability study was conducted to support a lot split of the subject property.
The property has an existing single-family residence and a veterinary office building each with
their own separate septic system and leach field. The individual leach fields are depicted on the
Tentative Map prepared by Dillon Engineering (March 1991) and each is wholly contained
within each proposed lot subdivision (parcels 1 and 2).
Environmental Health Division records of permits associated with septic systems were
examined to assist in defining past septic usage. The original permits for the two septic systems
were found. For parcel 1 , veterinary office building, the permit was obtained February 16,
1983 (Permit No. 83-104) and two 25-foot by 3-foot diameter seepage pits were installed.
For parcel 2, single-family residence, the permit was obtained March 23, 1967 (Permit No.
21620) and three 30-foot by 2-foot leach lines were installed. According to the current
s owner, Mr. Bill Lamkin, he has had no propbiems with the septic systems. No permit for
repair or modifications of the original systems were found in EHD records. The only other
record of permits for nearby locations found was for 24830 North Kennefick Road, a four
bedroom single-family residence (Permit No. 76-763) for which a leach field of 3, 40-foot
leach lines plus 3 25-foot by 42-inch diameter seepage pits were installed.
The area surrounding the subject property is unoccupied. The San Joaquin County, Semi-
Annual Groundwater Report (Spring, 1990) indicates that the depth to groundwater at the
subject site is in excess of 80 feet.
