,. ...
ti 2.0 SITE DESCRIPTION
/2.1 Location and Description
The subject property is a parcel to the east of the end of East Kettleman Road in an agricultural
area of Lodi. The property totals approximately 160 acres and was last utilized as farming land.
There are currently no structures on the subject property. Oxy-site operations consist of
agricultural farming.
Heating and cooling systems are currently not present on the subject property due to the lack of
structures. Potable water and sewage disposal are provided by municipal services.
Please refer to Figure 1 and Appendix A for a visual reference of the subject property location.
k2.2 Site and Vicinity Characteristics
The immediately surrounding properties consist of a nursery farm and associated farmland to the
west, and grazing pastures to the north, south and east
,',1.3 Topography
Information on topography is provided as a general reference. The US Geological Survey
Linden, CA Quadrangle 7.5-Minute Series topographic map was reviewed. The map shows the
subject property is located at approximately 192 feet above mean sea level. The topography of
the region is slightly hilly, and slopes to the west. Based upon regional topography, groundwater
is assumed to flow to the west.
d'2.4 Historical Use Information
By design, the scope of an ASTM Transaction Screen does not include extensive historical
research of the subject property. For this investigation, AEI reviewed limited historical
resources and conducted interviews with persons familiar with the subject property.
The subject property was historically used for agricultural purposes, including the cultivation of
orchard trees. The agricultural nature of use at the subject property presumably involved the
application, storage, and/or mixing of pesticides and other agricultural chemicals at the subject
property. Based on the duration of agricultural use and the tendency of these constituents to
remain in near surface soils, the use of agricultural chemicals may have impacted the subject
property.
,.Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps
Sanborn Fire Insurance maps were developed in the late 1800s and early 1900s for use as an
assessment tool for fire insurance rates in urbanized areas. A search was made of Environmental
Data Resource's (EDR's) collection of Sanborn Fire Insurance maps on November 11, 2006.
Sanborn map coverage was not available for the subject property.
Environmental Transaction Screen QE 1
Project No.262905
January 18,2007
Page 3
