Surface and Subsurface Contamination Report------APN: 001-230-39------P el Nos. 1 and Remainder
Sacramento Loam
This soil is on recent alluvial fans or flood plains or other secondary deposits
having slightly developed profiles, underlain with unconsolidated material. Sacramento
Soils are found in basins that parallel streams and in this situation the major stream is the
Mokelumne River. Sacramento Soils are deep, dark colored, poorly drained soils.
Sacramento Soils contain variable quantities of partly decayed organic material. They are
slightly acid on the surface but usually calcareous in the subsoil. Sacramento soils are
medium to heavily textured and have a high water holding capacity. This soil is resistant
to erosion. There are five textures, ranging from loam to silty. The subject property soil
has a loam texture.
Sacramento soils are used for a wide variety of annual crops. They are especially
adapted to beets, tomatoes, corn and grain. However, the present crop being grown is
grapes. The Storie Index=72 which is a good rating for growing agricultural crops. The
permeability of Sacramento Loam is rated good on the surface and imperfect at lower
depths.
Columbia Very Fine Sandy Loam
This soil is on recent alluvial fans or flood plains or other secondary deposits
having undeveloped profiles and underlain with unconsolidated material. This soil is
resistant to erosion and is light grayish-brown in color. The permeability rating for this
soil is good. The Storie Index=80 which is a good rating for growing agricultural crops.
This soil has less than 0.2%soluble salts.
The University of California publication entitled"Soils of San Joaquin County,
California,United States Department of Agricultural Soil Conservation Service", issued
October 1992, lists three soil series that may be encountered on the subject property. The
three series listed are Guard Gray Loam,RioBlancho Clay Loam, and Tokay Fine Sandy
Loam. The Guard Gray Loam soil is located in the area of the existing home. The
RioBlancho Clay Loam is located in the westerly portion of the subject property
including the new home site. The Tokay Fine Sandy Loam is located in the extreme
northerly portion of the subject property.
Guard Gray Loam Soil
Guard Gray Loam soil is a nearly level, very deep poorly drained soil. The soil is
calcareous and is weakly cemented with lime below 15". In some areas the soil is loam or
sandy loam. Perched water can occur at a depth of 3' to 4' below the ground surface. The
permeability of the soil is generally slow and the soil is subject to rare flooding. The soil
is suited to irrigation row and field crops.
Thur Ra I ,C Candra M Ctnkrc 75R1 We.t KVIP Rn-d T nrii rA 99949 Phnnr !9091 704—7S 1 S A
