That is typical of the region, which is covered by an alluvial fan emanating <br /> from the Inner California Coast Range. <br /> Section 5.4 Discussion of Soil Litholoev as Related to Future On-Site Septic Uses <br /> Being formed of silty clay (CL), the lithology of the upper 8 ft. of soil is such that percolation <br /> rates will be low. However, as is evidenced by the successful long-term operation of existing <br /> septic tanks and leach field systems on Parcel 1 of the subject property and on adjacent and / <br /> nearby properties on the same soil deposits, the soil lithology is not expected to cause problems / <br /> with any properly-designed septic systems that may be constructed elsewhere on the property in <br /> the future. (See Section 6.8 below for additional discussion of expected leach field performance <br /> on the subject property.) <br /> SECTION 6.0: PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION <br /> Section 6.1 Site Map Showing The Location of The Percolation Test Holes <br /> A percolation test pit was excavated on each of the three parcels. Their locations are shown on <br /> Figure 4. <br /> Section 6.2 The Minimum Number of Shallow and Deep Percolations Tests Performed for Each <br /> Parcel <br /> A single shallow percolation test hole was located on each of the three parcels. No deep <br /> percolations tests were performed. <br /> Section 6.3 Description of The Date. Time and Protocol Used to Prepare The Test Holes <br /> The test holes were drilled on October 31, 2011 using a Bobcat with a 12 inch open flight auger. <br /> The holes were drilled to approximately 40 inches deep. The loose soil was removed from the — <br /> bottom of the holes using a manual post-hole digger and a shovel. Four inches of/< inch crushed <br /> rock was placed in the bottoms of the holes. Between 8 A.M. and 9 A.M on November 1, 2011 <br /> the holes were presoaked by pouring water into the holes so that there was a minimum depth of <br /> 12 inches above the bottoms. <br /> Section 6.4 Description of The Date Time and Condition of The Test Holes After The 24 Hour <br /> Soak Period <br /> On November 2, 2011 the test holes were inspected at 7 A.M. At that time, the holes contained <br /> no suing water. There had been some sloughing from the walls at the bottoms of the holes <br /> l�efe the water had been present. The bottoms of the holes appeared to be damp but there was <br /> no standing water present. <br />
