6.
L February 6,2006
NOA Project Number: E05173A
3.4 Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
In an attempt to determine the septic system density for the vicinity of the Site, our office reviewed
a 1993 aerial photograph of the subject property available from Microsoft Terraserver
(www.terraserver.microsoft.com). We counted the building clusters within one square mile of the
Site, and made the assumption that each by4ding cluster has one septic system. Using this method,
` we determined that there are a minimum f 15 ptic systems pet square mile in the immediate
vicinity of the subject property.
` The general use of the vicinity is farmland. There are few residences in the area.
3.5 Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
No septic system installation permits were found for the vicinity of the Site during file review at
EHD on December 12, 2005.
3.6 Septic Repair Permit History in the Vicinity
The follog six ptic system repair permits were found for the vicinity of the Site during file
review at E D December 12, 2005:
Table 3.
Vicinity Septic System Repair Permit Summary.
Address,Date Tank Lines,Length,Pits
Capacity
31396 South Highway 33,12-19-94 --- Addition of tluee 70'leach lines to existing residential system
31448 South Highway 33,2-18-76 -- Addition of one 90'leach line to existing residential system
34960 South Highway 33,6-20-84 1200 gal Addition of one 90-ft leach line to existing residential system
34922 South Highway 33,5-4-76 __ Addition of one 60'leach line 36"wide to existing residential
system
34960 South Highway 33,2-14-00 -- Addition of one 100'leach line to existing residential system
31396 South Hi hwa 33,7-23-01 1600 al Replacement of existingtank at residential s stem
Septic systems in the immediate area have required additional leach lines and one replacement tank.
L 3.7 Expected On-Site Maximum Septic Tank Usage
According to Mr.Thoming, the site is to remain agricultural. Each parcel's maximum on-site septic
tank usage could be foK!itT ar"esidence and econdaryclwelling unit. If there is to be any
construction of a septic system, septic system design should be based on the Environmental Health
Department On-Site Wastewater Disposal Standards or other engineering recommendations.
4
6.
