4.11 Hazards and Hazardous Materials <br /> The project site is not listed on any of the databases searched, including the Hazardous Wastes <br /> and Substances Sites List(Government Code Section 65962.5). However, there are three nearby <br /> sites listed on the EDR database search report. The sites are listed as follows: <br /> Traina Barnes Farms <br /> 37437 S. Koster Road <br /> Tracy,CA 95304-9327 <br /> V <br /> This site is listed as an inactive underground storage tank location. It is located on the DSS <br /> Company Vernalis Quarry property situated to the west of the project site. <br /> L <br /> DSS Company Vernalis Quarry <br /> 36869 S. Koster Road <br /> i Tracy, CA 95304 <br /> This site is listed as having a facility that treats and/or disposes of liquid or semisolid wastes from <br /> their processing, such as mining, gravel washing,etc. This site is situated to the west of the <br /> project site. <br /> Fallon Tank Company <br /> Koster Road/Blewett Road <br /> Tracy, CA 95304 <br /> �. This site is listed as a leaking underground storage tank located somewhere near the intersection <br /> of Koster Road and Blewett Road. No further information could be found regarding the exact <br /> location and status of this site. There are no records on file for this site with the agencies who <br /> would oversee this type of case, including the Department of Toxic Substances Control, the <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board, or the San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Department. <br /> r <br /> Hazardous Materials <br /> A site reconnaissance was completed at the project site on October 14, 2003. The purpose of the <br /> site reconnaissance is to observe potential locations of hazardous substances or petroleum <br /> products,to locate current aboveground storage tanks, to observe evidence of underground tanks, <br /> and to examine for obvious physical indications of improper hazardous substances or petroleum <br /> product disposal such as stained soil or asphalt and stressed vegetation. <br /> I" No structures were entered at the time of the site reconnaissance. On parcels 265-010-15 and 16, <br /> there is a house and barn. Several large trucks, agricultural equipment, vehicles, and a few old <br /> r <br /> tanks are located east of the bam. There are two above ground storage tanks on metal stands <br /> located in the gravel driveway, and one aboveground storage tank on a stand located near the <br /> front of the house. Another aboveground storage tank on a platform is located west of the house <br /> ` along the orchard near a well pump. <br /> On parcel 265-010-08,there is a mobile home and outbuilding located on the north side of <br /> Hospital Creek. Near the outbuilding is an agricultural chemical storage trailer and an above <br /> ground fuel storage tank that is hooked up to a fuel pump.
