Turning radius must be provided at all turns on site for fire department access.
2. Fire lane surfacing must be capable of sustaining 25,000 lbs. per axle of apparatus.
3. Provide all-weather surfacingfor fire apparatus access roads.
4. Provide static water supply on site with auto-fill capability, level gauge, FDC, etc. Site
may require hydrants dependent upon location of water tank and FDC's.
5. Provide net clear 20-feet width for fire lane. As such, 'NO PARKING—FIRE LANE'
signage is required.
6. All gates must provide 20-feet in net width and if automatic gates are implemented
they will need Opticom sensors. If manual gates, they will need Knox boxes with keys or
Knox padlocks.
7. Building will need addressingthat is visible and legible from the road fronting the
property or other approved means to readily identify the structure for emergency
vehicle access.
8. Building will need Knox box and fire extinguishers per code.
9. What isto be stored in the storage building?
10. The structure may require an automatic sprinkler system based upon the occupant
load (calculated load of 300 or more for an A-3) or based upon square footage (greater
than 12,000 square feet).
11. The building FDC is to be located within 50-75 feet of the static water supply
connection.
12. A radio amplification system may be required dependent upon type of construction or
amenities installed within the building. At the very least, radio coverage testing may be
required.
13. A fire alarm system may be required contingent upon calculated occupant load for
assembly occupancies.
14. Describe all of the proposed uses of the 'Multi-Purpose Building'.
15. The above-noted requirements are based upon the 2010 California Fire Code.
However, if the project is submitted after December 31, 2013, the new requirements of
the 2013 CFC will apply. Additionally, as each portion of the project develops, each
phase will need to meet subsequent codes based upon the date of such submittals for
permit.
I of 2 09/24/2013 9:03 AM
