(§ 5.2, 5.3, and 5.4) A Log of Boring using the Unified Soil Classification System (U.S.C.S.), as
observed in the perc test boring, is found on the EHD PERCOLATION TEST DATA SHEET.
Generally, the underlying surface soils show a consistent very fine sandy silt/ clay soil with a high
degree of stickiness. No cemented silts hardpan soil stratum was discernible.
(§ 6.1) Percolation testing was conducted at the location illustrated on the Tentative Map found
in Appendix C. This test location maintains sufficient distance requirements between wells,
property lines, irrigation lines and ditches, etc. The following information describes the y
preparation of the percolation test borings and the actual percolation testing:
(§ 6.2, 6.3 and 6.5) On December 5, 2011, 0900 hrs, a shallow perc test boring of 42 inches was
hand-drilled 100 ft to the southwest of the metal building. The sidewalls of the shallow boring
were scored with a pry-bar and the loose material removed. Two inches of fine gravel was placed
at the bottom and a three-inch perforated PVC pipe was inserted into the test boring. The boring
was then pre-saturated with 18 inches of clear water.
(§ 6.4) On December 6, 2011, 0930 hrs,percolation testing commenced. There was no standing
water after the 24-hour soak period in the perc test boring due to the sandy-silty soil type, as 'f
illustrated in Table 2 below. Consequently, EHD Perc Test Procedure 42 was conducted for the test
boring.
The last half hour of the test was witnessed by Ted Tasiopoulos, R.E.H.S. of the San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department. The maximum acceptable perc rate is 60 min/in for
shallow perc tests and 30 min/in for the medium depth perc test borings.
(§ 5.4 and 6.8) The following Table illustrates the proposed Parcel number, septic system
structure to be installed based on the depth of the passing perc rate, proposed acreage, post soak
period status and perc test results for the respective perc test.
TABLE 2
PERCOLATION TEST:RESULTS AND RELATED DATA
PROPOSED PARCEL PROPOSED PERC TEST DEPTHS POST SOAK PERC TEST
POTENTIAL SEPTIC ACREAGE PERIOD RESULTS
SVSTENI STRUCTURE STATUS
1 2.98+Acres 42 INCHES No Standing 9 min/in:]Parcel
oot Leachlines Per Water in Hole PASSSTNCi
Bedroom
Parcel 2 47.85 t Acres NO PERCOLATION TESTS NIA NIA
REQUIRED UNTIL THERE
REMAINDER N
DEIS A PROPOSAL TO
BUILD ON THIS PARCEL.
LLk; Page -3-
Chesney Consulting
