Each of the following bullets is a
response to the inquiry. In addition, our office has been requested to change the design for a four
(4)bedroom home to a three(3)bedroom home. e
• The reference number for the Soil Suitability Study should be PA-02-55.
• San Joaquin County Environmental Health is requiring the leach fields to P " ""`
be doubled.
• A 100% designated replacement area is indicated on the revised site plan
plate.
• A percolation test for Parcel 1 indicated no drop for the last 30 minutes.
The long term percolation rate for this hole is probably at least 250 (or
greater)minutes per inch. 222 minutes per inch is not incorrect.
• Porosity is defined as the ratio of volume of void spaces of the material to
the total volume of the material. Clean, well-sorted gravel has a porosity
between 25 to 50%. The porosity of sand or gravel ranges between 25 to
35%. 33% (or 1/3rd) is a reasonable porosity estimate for 1 to 2 inch,
loose, clean gravel. For more information, see Fetter, C.W., 1988,
Applied Hydrogeology; Merrill Publishing Company, Second Edition.
• The paper used to cover the rock should be leach line paper, straw, or
other approved filter material.
7
7 - YaP
