Mary's Mini Mary Page 7 of 10
Our Project Number: LG5080518
May 30, 2008
Table 5
Soil Boring Log
Depth Interval (ft) Soil Type Unified Soil
Classification
0-4 Brown gravelly sand with some clay GC
4-5 Dark brown clayey sand Sc
5 5.5 (auger refusal) Dark brown sandy clay with gravel GC
✓S.4 Discussion of Soil Lithology
A visual inspection of the soils from on-site drilling indicates little potential for percolation
because of the fine-grained nature of the soils. A percolation test is the best method to
determine the suitability of the soils for a septic disposal area. Please see the next section for
percolation test results. Generally speaking, coarser-grained soils have much greater potential
for percolation than fine-grained or cemented soils on-site.
6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION
6.1 Percolation Test Locations
A Site Map indicating the locations of the percolation test holes is included as Plate 1 in the
appendix of this report.
!'6.2 Number of Percolation Tests
One (1) shallow and one (1) deep percolation test were conducted on the parcel for a total of
two (2) percolation tests conducted on the property.
6.3 Boring Preparation and Presaturation
The soil borings were advanced on the property with a truck-mounted deep rock auger rig on
May 28, 2008. Auger refusal was encountered at five (5) feet due to the cemented clays and
gravels.
A 1.5-inch diameter PVC pipe with perforations on the bottom was used to measure the drop of
water in the percolation test boring. Approximately 2 inches of "pea gravel" was placed in the
bottom of the open soil boring, and then the PVC pipe was installed on top of the gravel. "Pea
gravel"was then used to backfill in the annular space.
",44
902 Industrial Way•Lodi,CA 95240•209.367.3701 • Fax 309.369:4228 Sr',2008 Nei/0-Anderson&A.ssoriates.Inc
