January 7,2003
Job Number:LG02-026
Page 2
We understand from Jon Reed, Plant Manager of BES Concrete, and our examination of a septic
system permit dated 11/18/92, that the existing septic system composed of two tanks and one
disposal area connected by tight lines (see permit copy attached in the appendix). The sewage
disposal area is composed of two filter beds (Plate 1). According to a septic system permit, the
existing septic system was designed for 10 to 15 employees. It is estimated by Jon Reed that for
the proposed expansion, an average of 37 employees and 5 customers will be on site during a
typical 5 day work week. The caretaker residence is a 2 bedroom mobile home occupied by 1
person which utilizes the septic system. The septic system provides sewage disposal for all uses
occurring on the property. The suitability of the existing septic system and soils will be evaluated
for the proposed additional uses.
A search of septic system permits issued was conducted from the files of San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department for septic system and other permits for the subject site. The
record search located several septic system, water well, and other permits for the subject site.
Table 1 presents a summary of the septic system permits. All permits found in the file for the
subject site are contained in the appendix.
Table 1.
Septic Permit Review Summary (see appendix for permit copies).
Address,Permit Date Tank Capacity Septic System Layout Comments
10304 W.Linne, 1/22/91 2000 gals Three 60-ft long leach lines New system located near
with three 10-ft deep by 4-ft x the office buildings.
12-ft sumps.
10304 W.Linne, 11/18/92 1600 gals Two(2)6-ft x 80-ft filter Add new tank,tight line,
beds. and filter bed to existing
system.
3.0 GROUND WATER
The San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District' ground-water depth
and elevation maps for Spring 1998 and for Fall 1998 which indicate the most recent ground-
water levels for the County were examined.
