!Y
!!
• We have arranged employees' shifts so that they can take advantage of '
! ride-sharing which they utilize.
r
• We have historically encouraged carpooling for parking, air quality
;I reasons as well as boosting employee morale.
i`.
• We have monitored actual demand parking for the last two and a half
months with an average of 23 cars for all employees counted per day.
'' As our site plan indicates, we are proposing 33 parking spaces, plus 2
parking spaces for the caretakers unit. Considering the above factors,
we believe this adequately address our need and is consistent with the
number of employees we have that drive and park on site.
Additionally, for economical reasons, we have proposed to provide asphalt pavement for
the first 300 feet of our driveway which will reduce dust and eliminate debris on Linne
Road. The remaining parking areas will be chip scaled for the first 1-112 years at which
time Bes will asphalt or concrete the parking area. Due to the capital intensive nature of
our business sand for the reasons stated above, we respectfully request this additional time
to make these improvements.
We are currently applying for a public water supply permit with the County. BES
Concrete Products has retained FGL Environmental Analytical chemists Mike Ostrom at
2500 Stagecoach Road, Stockton to assist with water quality. Mike Ostrom will assist us
in water testing to County specifications and will notify San Joaquin County of all test
results. Mike will be assisting us in making the appropriate application and conducting
tests in compliance with water standards.
I
Bes now employs 37 people who, for the most part, all live within the County. In the
process of changing ownership through extensive litigation, the company, as a
responsible corporation has had to pay a substantial amount of past debts that were
obligations of the previous owners. Because of this continuing philosophy of the present
owners,we contacted the County and invited them to inspect the premises and to let us
know if we were in compliance or in violation of any of the County codes. The County
Inspector, Tom Sweeso, came out and advised us of matters that needed to be addressed.
At the time Tom came out, the property was still owned by the Shirley Ball Estate. Once
we acquired the property,we immediately employed Rod Attebery of Neurniller and
Beardslee and Rod Gray of Siegfried Engineering to assist us in code compliance. We f
have spent a large amount of money and time in engineering and environmental studies to
address the compliance issues. My conviction to the process of becoming 100% k
compliant is only outdone by my concern of staying in business, while implementing the
improvement that are required of my company.
!
2
IMANAGE 342349-1
I
