L
LFebruary 16,2005
NOA Project Number: E040149A
L 4.0 GROUND WATER INFORMATION
L4.1 Ground Water Depth and Gradient
The San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (1998 and 1999) ground
water depth and elevation maps were reviewed to determine the ground water levels near the Site.
LThe Fall 1998 and Spring 1999 maps are the most current maps available from the county.
Fffamination of these maps indicates that no water level data is available for the Tracy/Banta area,
Lwhich includes the Site, and no comments as to depth or gradient flow direction can be made.
No ground water was encountered by the staff of Neil O. Anderson&Associates, Inc. during the
drilling of the percolation test holes to a depth of 3 feet on January 27, 2005.
4.2 Potential Ground Water Contamination Issues
L Identifying potential ground-water contamination sources was not part of the scope of work for the
soil suitability study.
6 Potential ground-water contamination can occur from a number of sources which often include
leaky underground storage tanks, agricultural activities, dairies, septic systems, and storm water
Linfiltration. Any past agricultural activities and the present use of septic systems in the area should
be considered potential ground-water contamination sources.
L4.3 Water Sample Location
No permits were found for the property during file review at EHD on December 2, 2005.
LNo water sample was taken because no wells exist on the property.
L 5.0 SOIL PROFILE AND GEOLOGIC INFORMATION
I The Site is depicted on the Preliminary Geologic Map of Cenozoic Deposits of the Tracy
6' Quadrangle, California (1981),as within a region of Quaternary Alluvium. The unit is one of
poorly sorted gravel, sand silt and clay (Plate 3).
The surface and near surface soils located at the Site are reported by the San Joaquin County Soil Suwcy
to be composed of El Solyo clay loam, 0-2 percent slopes and Stormar clay loam, 0-2 percent slopes
L (Plate 4) (USDA, 1992). Table 3 presents some selected properties of the soils:
L
L 5 '-44
L
