i Possible Sewaae Disposal On-site Use: San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division septic permit applications were reviewed. Over 25
permit applications were reviewed in the general vicinity of the subject property
involving a period from 1955 through 1999. No permits were found for the subject
property. Since the property has no buildings of any type located on it now nor has it
been known to have any, the property in question does not appear to have any likely
contamination from previous sewage disposal on-site. Consequently, a source of nitrate
contaminants from sewage disposal is not indicated.
Discussion - Potential Contaminant Sources: It is assumed that if chemical
contamination was present on the subject property it would most likely come from past
agricultural operations using pesticides and herbicides. However, it appears that no
agricultural products have been used or produced on this property for the last 5-years. No
surface evidence was observed to indicate that these sources were used on site, or from
previous site use.
Conclusions: A surface reconnaissance was performed on Wednesday, June 20, 2001 to
observe present property conditions and observed for indications of on-site contaminant
sources. It is our understanding that the land has had some previous agricultural use and
that the owners are considering a change in land use. In our opinion, due to the absence
of indications of servicing or repair of farm equipment areas, surface or subsurface fuel
storage tanks, pesticides storage and their storage/service areas, or development of
residences or farm buildings, the subject property does not appear to have been
contaminated from these possible sources.
The property did not appear to have excessive nitrate presence from indigenous animal
overpopulation, livestock use, septic systems or agricultural chemical use. Our site
reconnaissance did not reveal on-site potential sources of contaminants and the history of
use did not indicate the presence or use of fuels or agricultural chemicals.
In our opinion, the current land use appears to be fallow and undeveloped, and on the
basis of the reconnaissance and inquires reported herein, indications of on-site
contaminant sources from previous land use were not present or observed at this time.
RAMESH BILA PROPERTY AT 8253 WEST LWNE ROAD,TRACY,CA 95376
Page 5
