The six or seven events held at this
particular winery over the past year--have disturbed us and our quiet—and I would not classify
them as "marketing events."
1. These events have been "parties'or"wedding receptions" with loud music beginning
around 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. and lasting until at least 10:00 p.m. This winery is
surrounded by open agricultural fields and there are no walls, trees or bushes --
absolutely nothing to stop, block or reduce the noise transmission from reaching our
Property and penetrating our home, When I have to "turn up" the volume on my
television to overcome the beat of a Mexican polka that is blasting from the winery—
that"party" is too loud.
2. These events were made even more obnoxious because of all of the loud laughter.
3. These events involved the partygoers of this winery parking their vehicles along the
shoulder(in both directions) of the only two-lane thoroughfare that goes to Tracy
(Linne Road).
4. And at the end of the evening we worried about our children who drive that road back
and forth to Tracy because of all of the intoxicated drivers being let loose on Linne
Road—which is the major truck route for large trucks that travel on the South end of
the city.
We, and most of our neighbors, moved to Linne Estates to be able to enjoy the peace and quiet
that comes from living in an area that is surrounded by agricultural land. Tomatoes, corn, alfalfa
and grapes are very quiet. They do not make any noise. We like it that way.
From your description,Windmill Ridge Winery currently has NOT been approved for any
marketing events. If that is true, we would like to know how these previously held events could
have been legally conducted?
I of -2- 0_
