B. Yearly amounts
Typical application rates for animal manure for this part of San
Joaquin County are 12 cubic yards to the acre and a maximum
of 36 cubic yards to the acre.
Two large cows kept every day for a year would generate 1000
cu ft of manure. This is 37 cubic yards.
Two goats kept every day for a year would generate 109 cu ft of
manure. This is 4 cubic yards.
The amount of manure produced under two different
maximum uses is quite different and requires different
applications for its disposal.
For 15 animals four days at a time four times per year will
generate 20 cu ft per day and thus 82 cu ft for the four days.
For the year this total equals 327 cu ft or 12 cubic yards.
II. Disposal
Disposal will be handled in one of three ways depending on
the situation and the amount.
