(Plate 7).
L The surface and near surface soils located at the Site are reported by the San Joaquin County Soil Survey
to be composed of Alamo clay,Madera sandy loam and Madera loam, all 0-2% slopes. (Plate 8)
(USDA, 1992). Table 2 presents some selected properties of these soils:
Table 2.
San Joaquin County Soil Survey
Selected Soil Properties of On-Site Soils.
Soil Name Soil Perme- Septic tank
and Map Depth Unified Soil Classification Sah s/ Reaction ability absorption
Svmbol (m) mmhoscm pH (in/hr) fields
Alamo, 0-12: Clay;CH <2 6.1 -7.8 0.06-0.2 Severe:
clay,0-2% 12-33: Clay;CH <2 6.6-8.4 <0.06 cemented
slopes 33-60: Indurated;-- --- -- --- pan,
102 wetness.
Madera 0-19: Sandy loam;SM <2 5.6-7.3 2.0-6.0 Severe:
sandy loam, 19-23: Sandy clay loam SC <2 6.1 -7.3 0.2-0.6 cemented
0-2% 23-29: Clay,clay loam;CL,CH,SC <2 6.6-8.4 <0.06 pan,peres
slopes,193. 29-60: Indurated <2 --- slowly.
Madera 0-10 Loam;CL-ML,ML <2 5.6-7.3 0.6-2.0 Severe:
loam,0-2% 10-30 Clay,clay loam;CL,CH,SC <2 6.1 -8.4 <0.06 cemented
slopes,194. 30-60 Indurated <2 --- --- pan,peres
slowly.
Madera 0-10 Sandy loam;SM <2 5.6-7.3 2.0-6.0 Severe:
sandy loam, 10-20 Clay,clay loam;CL,CH,SC <2 6.1 -8.4 <0.06 cemented
0-2% 20-60 Indurated <2 --- --- pan,peres
slopes,195. slowly.
Note:The table descriptions do not necessarily reflect site-specific soil properties.
L 5.1 Soil Boring Locations
A total eight so' borings were advanced on the site, four bo gs.to-a depth of approximately
three a half et and four borings to a depth of appro ' ely 22 fe .
