L u
LSeptember 9, 2005
NOA Project Number: E05039B
Lseptic system. Details of the percolation tests are summarized in Table 5.
Table 5.
r
Summary of Percolation Tests
Test No., Percolation Percolation Rate Test Comment
Date Tested Test Depth(ft) (minutes/inch) Duration (see notes)
6' P-1 shallow,8-23-05
(Parcell) 3.55 11.36 4-hr Satisfactory percolation tate
P-2 shallow,8-23-05
v 3.17 125 4-hr Slow percolation rate,fad
(Parcel 2)
P-3 shallow,8-73-05 3.37 20.83 4-hr Satisfactory percolation rate
(Parcel 3)
P4 shallow,8-23-05 3,66 5 4-hr. Satisfactory percolation rate
Parcel 4
r. Note: A satisfactory percolation rate for a"shallovZ' test is less than or equal to 60 minutes per inch.
A satisfactory percolation rate for a"deep"test is less than or equal to 30 minutes per inch.
`, 6.7 Discussion of Percolation Test Results
The soils within the sewage disposal areas of the parcels one, three and four have demonstrated a
L, satisfactory percolation rate in accordance with the requirements of the EHD for the use of a
standard septic system. Parcel two had a failing percolation rate and therefore does not fit the
Lrequirements for a standard septic system.
6.8 Discussion of Septic System Sizing
LSeptic System Construction should follow the San Joaquin County On-Site Wastewater Disposal
Standards where applicable. We recommend a Civil Engineer prepare a septic system design for
L Parcel two unless additional percolation testing on the Parcel indicates a satisfactory rate and is
approved by the EHD.
L7.0 CONCLUSIONS
In summary, percolation rates that meet the minimum EHD standards were achieved in the
L proposed septic disposal areas of Parcels one, three and four. The parcels appear suitable for the use
of a standard septic system. For Parcel two we recommend a Civil Engineer prepare a septic system
design for the Parcel unless additional percolation testing on the Parcel indicates a satisfactory rate
Land is approved by the EHD.
No ground water was encountered in any of the borings drilled on the property. The on-site water
well was tested for nitrate and DBCP. DBCP was non-detectable, and nitrate concentration in
L ground water was found to be 19.0 mg/L-N031which is well below the maximum contaminant
L 9 .-44
L
