March 31, 2005
NOA Project Number. E05039A
L4.0 EVALUATION OF IDENTIFIED CONTAMINATION SOURCES
L Agricultural chemical residues may remain on the property. No evidence was found, however, to
indicate that the chemicals were applied inappropriately.
L The tanks located on the adjacent property appeared to be in good condition and are located on
platforms above the gravel driveway. Due to their nature and/or distance from the subject property,
the adjacent tanks do not appear likely to cause an environmental impact to the subject property at this
L time.
A 500-gallon underground gasoline storage tank and two above-ground fuel storage tanks were located
` on the property in the past According to Mr.Bryan Hofmann, one of the current owners and son of
}r the previous owners of the property, the tanks were removed aroundl980. No soil staining was noted
where the above-ground storage tanks had been located. The depth to groundwater is approximately
70 feet below ground surface"in the area of the subject property, and the subsoil consists of a sandy
clay loam 17 about 25 inches thick.
L5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Given the historical uses of agricultural chemicals on the subject property, meaningful conclusions
L regarding the presence or extent of such material cannot be determined without soil sampling and
analysis.
Given the use of an underground storage tank on the subject property in the past, meaningful
conclusions regarding the presence or extent of gasoline, diesel,or other petroleum products cannot be
determined without soil sampling and analysis.
LShould new domestic water wells be developed on the subject property,EHD should be contacted for
direction regarding the potential for impacts to groundwater from the agricultural history of the
Lproperty and vicinity.
6.0 LIMITATIONS
LThis report was compiled as a Surface/Subsurface Contamination Report for the subject property. This
report contains information and data provided to NOA by several sources. NOA in no way warrants
Lthe accuracy or completeness of the information provided to this investigation by those sources.
L 16 San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District,Lines of Equal Elevation of
Groundwater Maps,Spring 1999 and Spring 2003.
L17 Soil Survey of San Joaquin County,California,United States Department of Agriculture,Soil Conservation
Service,October 1992.
L11
L
