ATTACHMENT 14
COOLING 7'0l+1ER DISCUSSION
Cooling Tower Discussion
The cooling tower treatment program will utilize copper
corrosion inhibitor , surfactant , a phosphonate-acrylate
copolymer blend and chlorine. Please see the enclosed
Material Safety Data Sheets for sample information including
concentration and health risk assessments relating to these
chemicals. The drift from cooling towers is typically 0.005%
of the circulating water. This drift is calculated to
disperse to lU ppm (wt) in the air. This would indicate that
chemical concentrations found in the water would be reduced
to parts per billion - much lower than any OSHA Threshold
Limit Value (TLV) for the chemicals used.
Furthermore, the cooling tower is located on the east corner-
of the plant. This is a remote area not frequented by
personnel . Please see the enclosed Site Location Map and
Plot. Plan.
