San Joaquin Cogen Limited February 24, 1989
Mr. Jesse Allen Page 2
Percolation Test Location and Procedures
A percolation test was conducted in the center of the planned basin,
between the location of Borings 7 and 8. This test was conducted in accor-
dance with procedures in the San Joaquin County drainage criteria.
A 6-in.-OD steel pipe was inserted in a hole and then driven 12 inches
below the planned basin bottom. The pipe was then filled with water and the
rate of fall of the water level was recorded for 3 hours.
Percolation Test Results
The measured percolation data is provided below:
Time Interval
Depth to Change in Water GH/T
Minutes Seconds Water (in.) Level LH (in.) (in./min.)
3 30 2 2 0.57
10 15 4 2 0.19
13 15 6 2 0.15
6 45 7 1 0.14
8 15 8 1 0.12
7 45 9 1 0.13
8 45 10 1 0.11
9 30 11 1 0.105
8 15 12 1 0.12
9 30 13 1 0.105
9 30 14 1 0.105
10 0 15 1 0.10
10 0 16 1 0.10
10 0 17 1 0.10
10 0 18 1 0.10
10 15 19 1 0.095
11 0 20 1 0.09
11 0 21 1 0.09
11 0 22 1 0.09
11 0 23 1 0.09
Based on these results, the percolation rate is 0.09 to 0.10 in./min. and
the standard percolation time is 10 to 11 minutes. We believe this to be a
conservative percolation rate based on the stratigraphic sequence beneath
the basin.
Closure
The following are attached and complete the report addenda:
Plate 1 Plan of Borings and Percolation Tests
Plates 2 thru 5 Boring Logs for Borings 1, 2, 3, 7 and 8
IMCClelland consultants 11448/A-2
