%.. ..i
responsibility will remain with San Joaquin CoGen Limited.
2. 0 FACILITY DESCRIPTION
2. 1 General
a. The proposed facility will be a topping cycle cogeneration
plant utilizing one General Electric Model LM3000 STIG
packaged gas turbine generator unit exhausting into one
heat generator. Power will be generated at 13. 8kV, 60
hertz. The power will be transformed to 115kV and
delivered to the PG&E system. Steam generated from the
gas turbine hot exhaust gases will be delivered to LOF for
use in their process and injected into the gas turbine for
emissions control and power augmentation.
b. Rated at the annual average temperature of 62-F for- the
Lathrop area, the gas turbine generator will produce
46,950 4:W (gross) of electric power. Under normal
conditions, approximately 1450 t::W of the power will be
required to operate auxiliary plant equipment. A net
plant_ output of 45,300 kW will be available for delivery
to the PG&E electrical grid.
c. The heat recovery steam generator will replace two
existing LOF boilers and generate approximately 30,000
lb/hr of 300 prig steam for delivery to LOF for their
glass manufacturing operations. The remainder of the
steam produced will be injected into 'the gas turbine for
emissions control and power augmentation and low pressure
steam (25 prig) will tie used for deaeration , feedwater-
heating and supply to the absorption chiller.
d. A selective catalytic reduction system will be installed
in the steam generator for secondary emissions control .
2.2 E moment Descrintion
The following is a description of major equipment to be
installed in the Cogeneration Facility. Other minor
equipment will be installed as required to provide a
complete operating facility.
a. Combustion Gas Turbine Generator
The combustion gas turbine generator will be a shop
assembled, skid mounted, packaged unit manufactured and
a=ssembled by General Electric Company. The major
components comprising this unit will include a gas
turbine, electric generator , exciter- , inlet air filter ,
inlet air chiller , mechanical and electrical accessory
skid and a complete control and monitoring system for the
turbine and generator. These components will be enclosed
in a weatherproof housing insulated for sound attenuation.
The housing will be cooled and pressurized by a forced air
ventilation system.
