CITY OF STOCKTON
STOCKTON FIRE DEPARTMENT
CITY HALL
425 N. UP-920025
In reference to application No. UP-92-0025 for a church on
Lower Sacramento Road, the fire department continues to
have reservations about urban development in that area.
There are no fire department water supplies in that area .
While the proposed structure is not very large, the fire
department feels that the continued commercial development
without the necessary public water supply is not in the
public interest.
If the project is approved, a static water supply adequate
to provide the necessary fire flow will be required.
However, this method of providing firefighting water
cannot be expected to take the place of adequate water
mains and fire hydrants. There are a number of commercial
structures on Lower Sacramento Road that have been
constructed in the past without water supplies and I would
hope that this trend not be allowed to continue.
If you have any questions , please contact me at 944-8566 .
DOUGLA C.eL
RPtTTO, FIRE CHIEF
JOHN HICKEY
FIRE HAL
JLH: cc
cc: Ken Lavoie, San Joaquin County Community Development
-,STOCKTON...CALIFORNIA'S SUNRISE SEAPORT"
