He asked the applicant why he requested <br /> a continuance. <br /> i <br /> Taj Khan said he asked for a continuance because he does not want the Planning Commission to be tainted <br /> by the news that has recently appeared in the newspapers. <br /> Howard Seligman, representing adjacent property owners, said they would like to see a decision made <br /> tonight. <br /> Joe Rishwain, representing the Lodi Muslim Mosque, said he is opposed to a continuance. <br /> Commissioner Eley said the request for continuance is not planning related. They should discuss the <br /> project and vote on the project tonight. <br /> Kerry Sullivan said the applicant concurs with the County's requirement for a 6 to 7-foot masonry wall along <br /> the southern boundary line_ i <br /> Commissioner Morri said he is not in favor of this project going forward. He visited the site and said it would <br /> not be possible for people to make a left-hand turn into the project_ He said there are traffic safety problems <br /> at this site. He cannot make Finding 4 because of the traffic safety issues. He thinks people will be turning <br /> into the project site where they are not allowed to tum, and that will cause serious problems. <br /> i <br /> Commissioner Eley said there are two other churches on that same road, and he has not heard of any <br /> problems with those churches. <br /> Commissioner Carter said agricultural areas are the only places left where you can build large church <br /> facilities. She can support the findings. <br /> Commissioner Stockar said this project will fit into this neighborhood_ <br /> Commissioner Eley said this project is a planning issue and not a national security issue_ That street is a <br /> busy street and will become much busier with a church, but other uses could generate even busier traffic. <br /> He said he can support this project. <br /> PC MINUTES PC: 7-21-05 <br />
