JAMES D ROBINSON, PE, CEG Page 4
September 1, 2010
_ Project Number 2010-1015
Description of Soil Lithology
The soils described in the Soil Survey, The soils encountered where fine Sandy Loam
(Tokay) to a depth of approximately 47 inches and Sandy- Loam (Acampo) to a depth of
approximately 60 inches.
Discussion of Soil Lithology
The fine sandy loam and sandy loam soils encountered indicates that the material may be
suitable for a septic system. However, a percolation test is an approved method for determining
the type of system that may be required for the site.
Mass Transport Properties of the Soils
I
The soil survey indicate the soils onsite are moderately permeable. Moderately permeable
soils allow, slow to moderate infiltration of water through the soils. Treatment of the effluent
occurs in the surface soils. Therefore, the longer the effluent stays near the surface the more
treatment occurs. Under heavy effluent demand in permeable soils, it is possible that effluent
contaminates could impact the first groundwater beneath the site.
2. GROUNDWATER ANALYSIS
Groundwater Information
Description Of The Depth And Gradient Of Groundwater In The Area
The San Joaquin County Public Works Department Internal Groundwater Data Center
(http://www.sjmap.org/groundwatero was reviewed. The spring 2009 and Fall 2009 maps are
the most current maps available from the County.
