Community Development Department
Development Services Division
1810 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
Re: Environmental and Planning comments relative to Application No.: UP - 94-
9 (Woodbridge Community Church)
Dear Mr. Martin:
As a homeowner in the immediate area of the proposed church, I am deeply
concerned from both an environmental and planning standpoint
The proposed project would have a severe impact on the local environment from
its immediate proximity to the Mokelumne river. The impacts would include, but
are not limited to:
1. By providing a parking area near the river, many more people will be
using the river, thus impacting the rivers natural habitat area and wildlife.
The area would become a littered eroded over used area prone to crime,
araffiti fires, dumping illegal fishing and the disturbance of native
species.
2. Considering the above mentioned increase in usage of the river, I
would suspect that there would be Impacts on any endangered spedes
Present in the immediate area such as Swainsons hawk and the local
Sermon and Steelhead spawning nuns.
3. Increased noise caused by having a large parking area would certainly
be an environmental impact_ The impact would be created not only from
church activities, but also from the publics use (legally or illegally) for a
tum around spot, a river take out point, a gathering point for late night
revelers etc. If this project is allowed, 1 would suggest that either the
project applicant or the County build a sound wall to insulate the Country
Club Vista Development, and in particular, the Desiree Lane residents
from the increased noise levels that will be caused by the project
