u _.
May 26, 1994
Mr. Richard Larrouy AT
San Joaquin County Community Development Depart
Development Service Division Ft
1810 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA. 95205 :'!AY 3 11994
Application No. SU-93-2 (TRACT No. 2607 ) WMMUrvutucvtwrmtN[DEPT.
PLANNING DIMION
Dear Mr . Larrouy:
We would like to review and object to the Major Subdivision
application with the San Joaquin Development Department and
Planning Commission.
Please respond before June 8 , 1994 with the time and place for the
Development Committee Review on June 15 , 1994 so that we can attend .
1 . Project Description - This Major Subdivision application is
being questioned and opposed as to why Dairy Farms are being
subdivided into two-acre parcels . What happened to the law on
the Farmland Mandate split of a minimum five acre parcels . We
were not notified of any change in law or re-zoning. Clarify and
explain "a 6 .5 acre Designated Remainder" .
2 . Project Location - Lower Sacramento Road - "one-half mile north
of Collier Road, Collierville" is not Galt ( as stated) but Acampo.
Eastside of Lower Sacramemto Road to Frontage Road entering
Highway 99 and Collier Road is a very dangerous corner. It will be
extremely hazardous and congested, as will Lower Sacramento road.
3 . Project Review - Environmental - SU-93-2 shows that all drainage
of septic tanks, water run-off in addition to winter rainstorms
drain into the drainage ditches on the privately owned existing
homes in the Forest Lake area which will cause flooding, contaminants,
plus standing water year round which will cause an explosion of
mosquito-insect infestation; which will require more chemical spraying
to contaminate our water supply. Even if drainage is constructed
for SU-93-2; water from this development will run off , the land is
higher, percolation factors , its inevitable. Polluted air from
fireplaces , riding mowers , noise pollution; implosion of smog
eventually.
4. Water Restriction - Daily we are made aware that California
has an on-going drought condition. With an over abundance of wells
there could be a well dry-out .
5 . Forest Lake Fire District - The Forest Lake Fire District is
volunteer and cannot possibly handle multiple emergencies in a
Major Subdivision and surrounding area . How many homes can be
served with only volunteers and limited fire trucks and water.
