It is currently planted <br /> in asparagus . Previous land use was also row crop . There is a homesite <br /> on parcel 1 . Ad2acent land is planted in alfalfa . <br /> SOILS <br /> The soils map from the "Soil Survey of San Joaquin County, California" <br /> indicates that the soil type for this property is Merritt Silty Clay <br /> Loam. <br /> Typically, the surface layer is a grayish brown and dark gray silty <br /> clay loam . The subsoil is a light brownish gray, grayish brown, and <br /> gray silt loam and silty clay loam . The substratum is a grayish <br /> brown fine sandy loam. <br /> GROUNDWATER <br /> A trench was dug to a depth of 8 ' on the remainder . The soil appeared <br /> to be a sandy clay loam .
