7. Concrete Base:
a. An approximately 4 foot square concrete base shall be constructed at ground surface
around the top of the well casing and contact the annular seal.
b. Contacts between the base and the annular seal, and between the base and the casings.
must be water tight and not cause the failure of the annular seal or well casing.
c. Where cement-based annular sealing material is used, the concrete base shall be
poured before the annular seal Inas set.
d. The upper surface of the base shall slope away from the well casing.
e. The base shall extend at a minimum of two feet(2 feet) laterally in all directions from
the outside of the well boring.
f The base shall be a minimum of inches in thickness.
2.3 MATERIAL QUANTITIES
A. Depth:
I. Sanitary Seal: 50 feet (requiring Special Water Well Permit per SJC Well Standards
Section 4.7.1.1).
2. Conductor Casing(as needed or as selected by Contractor): 50 foot depth below grade.
3. Expected Total Depth: 150 to 200 feet. To be determined after boring and aquifer data
has been reviewed.
4. Blank Casing: Min. I foot above grade to a depth of 50 feet.
5. Screened Interval: 50 fleet to Total Depth. Final screened intervals will be determined
after geophysical and lithological data has been reviewed.
6. Casing Guides: 4 guides per 100-foot depth.
B. Well Pump:
1.
