• Past Uses of the Site
Based on information reviewed for the Surface & Subsurface Contamination Report
(Live Oak, 2016), the Site has been used for orchard and vineyard since 1937 or earlier.
Ms. Silva indicated that her house was built in 2000, and the shop was built in 2003. It
appears that the structures at the southwest corner of the Site date to 1937 or earlier. A
trailer was also located in this area from 1985 to around 2000.
Existin_and Proposed_Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
According to the tentative parcel map (Quartaroli, 2016), two septic systems are
currently located on the Site, one at each house.
Proposed Septic System
Ms. Silva indicated that no new construction is planned.
On-Site Septic Permit History
Five septic system permits for the Site were identified at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department:
• • July 1978 permit for new septic system at house. The permit specifies a 1,600-
gallon septic tank, two 100-foot leach lines, and two 4-foot by 10-foot filter beds
(18447).
• April 1985 permit for new septic system at trailer north of barn. The permit
specifies a 1,200-gallon tank and two 70-foot leach lines (18447).
• January 1996 permit for addition of one 40-foot leach line and one 4-foot by 8-
foot by 10-foot deep sump to existing septic system at trailer (18449).
• January 2001 permit for new septic system at new house. The permit specifies a
1,600-gallon septic tank, three 50-foot leach lines, and three 2-foot by 10-foot by
10-foot deep seepage pits (18459).
• January 2001 permit for addition of one 60-foot leach line and one 2-foot by 10-
foot by 10-foot deep sump to existing septic system at house (18447).
Copies of the permits have been included in Appendix 4 of this report.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic
systems that exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property.
Aerial imagery from GoogleEarth was used. Each building cluster on the photograph
was assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that 20 or—
more septic systems per square mile are present in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
LOGE 1613 Page 2
