Parvar
Landmark Lathrop Group
c/o Triple "E" Engineering and Survey Company
15810 S. Harlan Road
Lathrop, CA. 95330
Subject: LANDMARK LATHROP GROUP QUARRY SITE: EVALUATION FOR RIPARIAN
BRUSH RABBIT HABITAT
Dear Mr. Parvar:
Thank you for asking Moore Biological Consultants to assist the Lathrop Landmark Group
with the subject project. This letter addresses the potential for occurrence of riparian
brush rabbit (Sylvilogus bachmani riparius) at the project site and is intended to
supplement our January 19, 2000 letter report. We understand that riparian brush rabbit
has been raised as a potential issue due to the recent discovery of a population on
Stewart Tract.
Project Location
The project site is located in southern San Joaquin County in an unnumbered section of
Township 2S, Range 6E of the USGS 7.5-minute Lathrop topographic quadrangle (Figure
1). The project site is composed of a 161 +/- acre parcel in the vicinity of the Interstate 5
and State Route 120 interchange, south of Madruga Road, near Lathrop, California. The
project site is located between 10 and 15 feet elevation and is bounded by Southern
Pacific Railroad to the south, the San Joaquin River to the west, fallow fields to the
northwest, and residences with associated pastureland to the east. The northeast
portion of the site is currently proposed for a quarry(Figure 2).
1300 W. Lodi Ave., Suite A ' Lodi, CA 95242
(209) 365-6828 * Fax (209) 365-6829
