October 23, 2009 <br /> SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br /> THOMPSON & FOLGER - EAST <br /> 5601 W. PELTIER ROAD <br /> LODI, CALIFORNIA <br /> OUR PROJECT NUMBER: LGS090519 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION AND PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT <br /> Our office was contracted by Mr. Jeff Twitchell of Thompson and Folger, Inc. to conduct a Soil <br /> Suitability Study for the property identified as 5601 W. Peltier Road, Lodi, California in San <br /> Joaquin County, California (the "Site'. Proposed development includes the creation of seven <br /> (7) assessor's parcels into twenty-one (21) roughly equally sized parcels; all parcels being <br /> greater than 40.0 acres. Please see the site map for more detail regarding specific parcel sizes. <br /> The Soil Suitability Study (SSS) was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for <br /> use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of Section <br /> 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. A major element of the field work <br /> included conducting percolation tests that meet the required absorption rates as required by <br /> San Joaquin County, Public Health Services, Environmental Health Department (EHD). <br /> In addition to conducting the percolation tests, a review of published soil information, geologic <br /> maps, and groundwater information was performed to evaluate the suitability of soils for use <br /> with a septic system. <br /> The formatting of this report has been designed to follow, to the greatest degree possible, the <br /> EHD's Soil Suitability Study Requirements Checklist, dated July 14, 2003. <br /> 1.1 Site Description <br /> The Assessor's Parcel Numbers (APNs) for the Site are 011-120-05, -06, and 15; 011-130-02 <br /> and 21; 011-190-09 and 003-040-12. The parcels are all over 40.0 acres in size, the smallest <br /> parcel being 41.2 acres and the largest being 45.6 acres. Please see the attached site map for <br /> more detail regarding the specific parcel sizes (Plate 1). The county application number is PA- 1 <br /> 0800322. The Site is currently farmed primarily as vineyards. <br /> The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey Topographic Map, is <br /> between approximately 8 and 21 feet above mean sea level.
