Soil Suitability and Nitrate Loading Study
MY GREEN WINERY
6535 East Peltier Road, Acampo, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION AND PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
On behalf of Mr. Mike Green of My Green Winery, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
(AGE) has prepared the enclosed Soil Suitability and Nitrate Loading Study for the
property located at 6535 East Peltier Road, Acampo, California. The purpose of this
study is to determine the potential impact from nitrate loading due to a planned small
scale winery showroom on the subject site. The study included a soil percolation test,
local septic use research and estimated nitrate impact to soil and ground water at the
subject site as required by San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
(EHD) letter dated 11 April 2011 (Appendix A).
1.1. DESCRIPTION OF SITE
The location of the site, surrounding properties and general setting is illustrated on the
Lodi North topographic map, 1978 (7.5 Minute United States Geological Survey (USGS)
Topographic Series, California) in the southern half of Section 17, Township 4 North,
Range 6 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian (Figure 1). The map shows the subject
property located at an elevation of approximately 70 feet above mean sea level in an
area of low topographic relief. The regional slope of the area is relatively gentle and dips
toward the west.
The property is situated on the north side of East Peltier Road, and consists of a 19-
acre parcel identified as San Joaquin County Assessor Parcel Number (APN) 005-260-
45. The current zoning of the property is AG-40 (this zone is established to preserve
agricultural lands for the continuation of commercial agriculture enterprises). The
existing structures located on-site include a residential multi-bedroom home, garage
and storage shed. The property is serviced by existing water well located on the eastern
central portion of the site.
1.2. DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
The future plans for the property include the development of the above referenced
storage shed into a small winery showroom within an existing garage with minor
renovation, while retaining the existing home structure. The proposed development plan
has been recorded as San Joaquin County Community Development Department
(SJCCDD) application Number PA-1100124. Additionally, the EHD-approved existing
septic system will have a new connection.
