Peltier Road <br /> Acampo, California <br /> Terracon Project No. NA177004 <br /> Dear Mr. McMahan: <br /> Terracon Consultants, Inc. (Terracon) appreciates the opportunity to submit this letter to Macchia <br /> Winery (Client) to conduct a Soil Suitability and Nitrate Loading Study (SSNLS) update for the <br /> above referenced site. The client provided our office with a copy of a Soils Suitability Nitrate <br /> Loading Study(SSNLS),for 7099 E. Peltier Road,Acampo, CA(Project Number: E07146A)dated <br /> September 30, 2007 and Update Letter dated October 29, 2007 prepared by Neil O. Anderson & <br /> Associates, Inc. (NOA), a site map, and a San Joaquin County Application Control Sheet. NOA <br /> merged with Terracon Consultants, Inc. (Terracon) in April of 2014. As requested, the following <br /> provides an update to our previous SSNLS documents. <br /> We understand the site consists of a 1.5 acre tract of land (APN 005-260-42) improved with <br /> Macchia Winery which includes two commercial septic systems for the winery warehouse and <br /> tasting room, utilities, and landscaping. We understand the SSNLS update is being performed at <br /> the request of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department to evaluate the increase <br /> in septic system usage for 12 marketing events per year with a maximum of 150 people attending <br /> each event. We further understand the marketing events are anticipated to be two day events. <br /> Prior Report Review <br /> Soil Suitability/ Nitrate Loading Study (SSNLS) prepared by Neil O. Anderson &Associates, Inc. <br /> (NOA) a Terracon Company dated September 30, 2007 (Project Number: E07146A): In 2007, a <br /> Nitrate Loading Study (NLS) was conducted for the site which consisted of a 1.5 acre parcel and <br /> residence. Estimated sewage flow rates consisted of 13 gallons per day per person for employees <br /> and 15 gallons per day per person for visitors. Average total nitrogen concentration of commercial <br /> waste was calculated 80 mg/L N. Average daily flow was calculated for the proposed commercial <br /> use at 126 gallons per day.
