*Mrs•, » •— ..,/
September 30, 2007
NOA Project Number: E07146A
Page 8
)6.6 Percolation Test Forms and Results
The completed percolation test forms are included in the appendix of this report.
A shallow percolation test is defined by the EHD as being between 36 and 42 inches in depth;a
satisfactory percolation rate for a shallow test is less than or equal to 60 minutes per inch drop. A
deep percolation test is defined as being between 3.5 and 25 feet in depth; a satisfactory percolation
rate for a deep test is 30 min/in or less. One percolation test must demonstrate a satisfactory
percolation rate within the proposed septic system disposal field of each parcel to utilize a standard
septic system. Details of the percolation tests are summarized in the table below.
Summary of Percolation Tests.
Test No., Percolation Percolation Rate Test Comment
Date Tested - Test Depth (ft) 4 'a in) Duration (see notes)
Shallw19-5-07 3.23 3.68 4-hr. Satisfactory percolation rate
p-2 lnr/2/
Shallow,9-5-07 3.27 3.9 4-hr. Satisfactory percolation rate
Note: A-satisfactory percolation rate for a"shallow/'testis less than or equal to 60 minutes per inch..
- A satisfactory percolation rate for a"deep"test is less than or equal to 30 minutes per inch.
} 6.7 Discussion of Percolation Test Results
The soils within the sewage disposal areas of the parcel have demonstrated a satisfactory percolation
rate in accordance with the requirements of the EHD for the use of a standard septic system.
t/6.8 Discussion of Septic System Sizing
Septic System construction should follow the San Joaquin County On-Site WastewaterDiposal
Standards where applicable.
/7.0 CONCLUSIONS
In summary, a satisfactory percolation rate of the soil was achieved in the proposed septic disposal
area on the site. The proposed area appears suitable for standard septic system.
No ground water was encountered in the boring drilled on the property. The depth to ground water
was between 70 and 80 feet in 1999. The on-site water well was tested for nitrate and DBCP. Nitrate
was found at 7.9 mg/L-NO3, below the maximum contaminant drinking water limit of 45 mg/L-
NO,. DBCP was not detected in the well water sample.
8
