Richard Larrouy August 17, 1995
UP-95-11 Page 2
The attached Synopsis highlights many of the requirements contained within
Regulation VIII. The Synopsis is not meant to be all inclusive, but it can be a useful
compliance aid in the field and office alike. Please refer to Regulation VIII for specific
requirements.
The SJVUAPCD suggests that the project applicant take all feasible measures to
reduce the amount of ozone precursors (Reactive Organic Gases (ROG), and Oxides
of Nitrogen (NO2, NO.) that will result from construction of this project.
• Automated control system for heating/air conditioning and energy efficiency
beyond Title 24 requirements.
• Increased insulation beyond Title 24 requirements.
0 Light-colored roof materials to reflect heat.
• Building units should be oriented to utilize passive solar cooling and heating to
the fullest extent possible.
• Trees should be carefully selected and located (generally on the southern and
western exposure) to shade structures during the hot summer months.
Deciduous trees should be used since they help cool in the summer and allow
sun to reach the building units during cold winter months.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on this project.
Sincerely,
David J. Stagnaro
Environmentay`Planner
Northern Region APCD REF Z N940288
via fax
