I will outline the problems below:
1. Non-conforming land use. There are no apartments in the area where the proposed project will be
located. The surrounding properties are mostly single-family residences. The project requires two-
story builings while most of the neighborhood consists of single-story construction.
2. Lack of school facilities. The project is for large families. However, Tyler school has no additional
capacity for new students. My children were not able to attend Tyler school because of a lack of
available space. If room cannot be found for two children, it seems that finding the room for as many as
100 children will be much more difficult.
3. Sewer system problems. The sewage system grid cannot adequately handle current residents. The
system releases sewage gases into the nearby neighborhood on occasion and residents have been told
that the sewage system is inadequate.
4. Traffic flow. To access the proposed project, automobiles will have to travel along Plymouth Road,
Alpine Avenue, or Webster Avenue and Del Rio Drive. The new freeway access will require residents
of the new project to drive to River Road and circle around to meet either the northbound or
southbound onramps of I-5. This will create an additional hazard on residential streets where children
8/15/95
