Sue and Craig Stevenson
568 Amy Ct.
French Camp,CA 95231
Ms. Corinne E. King
San Jaquin County
Community Development Department
This letter is in response to the proposed project at 9698 S. Priest Rd. French Camp, CA 95231
Application#PA-1200118 (UP).
The Use Permit application for a religious assembly at the address above should definitely NOT be
approved. It will be a nuisance in this neighborhood as there are over 80 residential homes within one
mile of the project. The traffic conditions will increase dramatically. As an example, when U. Kassala's
first held an"event'after purchasing the property there were over 200 cars and several buses as well as
over 400 people who attended that ceremony. Does this sound like an assembly with a maximum of 50
members?
We are concerned about the noise, air pollution from the traffic and illumination from the 80 FT. high
"temple".These are just a few of the conditions that will be intruding into our right for peace, tranquility
and the enjoyment of our homes. These nuisances should be adequate enough for an Environmental
Report instead of a Negative Declaration.
To address another aspect of this application from a standpoint of building issues and code
compliance,we are concerned about;
A. 1440 SQ. FT>existing warehouse that is below building codes.
B. The "leaves burner area" designated is not allowed in this area.
C. The 1500 SQ. FT. proposed restroom is quite excessive for 50 members.
D. Ten meditation cabins could turn into ten dwellings that people might live in all year.
E. The general plan designation is R/L(low density residential) the proposed site plan projects a
commercial atmosphere.
In closing all the neighbors we have spoken to are extremely AGAINST the Kusalakari Meditation
Center. This proposed establishment would interfere with our right to enjoy our homes. Please
consider the ill effects this center would bring to YOUR residents of San Jaquin County.
