pf,a poauku
Report No. 65.02
December 18, 2002
FOR: Mr.Neil Pollard
%Mr. Ron Heinzen, G.E.
Kleinfelder, Inc.
2825 East Myrtle Street
Stockton, CA 95205
PROJECT: Pollardville
10464 North Highway 99
Stockton, CA 95212
SUBJECT: Pollardville Reserve Septic System Parameters
Dear Gentlemen:
In response to the request of Mr. Ron Heinzen, I have formulated the reserve septic system
parameters based upon criteria promulgated in the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department Sewage Standards. In the event of a failure of the primary septic system, this
reserve system would be installed. Also included with this report is the illustrated reserve area,
which has been drawn from an extended site plan produced by CB Engineering, Inc. of Modesto.
This report is intended to be an addendum to Kleinfelder's Soil Suitability and Nitrate Loading
Study for the Pollardville complex dated December 5, 2002 and is for their sole use under their
copyrights, licenses and Client agreements.
The Average Daily Flow for the entire facility was calculated to be 3,500 gallons per day, seven
days per week. By incorporating a peaking factor of 1.5, the ADF becomes 5,000 gallons
wastewater flow per day, seven days per week. Section 8.6 of the Sewage Standards specifies
the method of calculating leach line requirements:
Base Tank Capacity (BTC) = 5,000 gallons (based upon approximate existing septic tank capacity)
Average Daily Flow(ADF) = 5,000 gallons per day, seven days per week
Calculated Tank Capacity (CTC) = 10,000 gallons
10,000 gallons x 0.250 Soil Factor for clay soils=2,500 Lineal Feet of Leach Line (LFLL)
Section 8.8.7 specifies Seepage Pit equivalents:
One - 60" diameter pit= 110 ft of leach line
Page 1 of 2
P.
