SfGNET STL Project No. 0010771
7LW ng Cabs Page 2
• Performing laboratory tests on representative soil samples obtained from the borings to evaluate
the physical and index properties of the subsurface soils.
• Performing two in-situ borehole percolation tests.
• Preparation of this report summarizing the results, conclusions, recommendations and findings
of our investigation.
PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION
_ We understand that design of the proposed development is underway and structural load information
and other final details pertaining to the structures are currently unavailable. On a preliminary basis, we
understand that the proposed construction will include a two-story wood-framed office/residence at the
southeast corner of the site. An additional seven, single-story self storage buildings will occupy the
remainder of the site. The self storage structures will be constructed with light-gauge metal framing
members found upon a conventional slab-on-grade. The backing walls constructed at the perimeter of
the site will be masonry supported by a continuous foundation. Appurtenant construction will include
site landscape improvements and Asphalt Concrete and/or Portland Cement Concrete pavements. A
drainage basin/retention pond is to be constructed at the northern property extents.
At the time of our field investigation, the site was found to be relatively level. Therefore, we anticipate
that only minor cuts and fills will be required to provide level building pads and positive site drainage.
In the event these structural or grading details are inconsistent with the final design criteria, the Soils
Engineer should be notified so that we may update this writing as applicable.
SITE DESCRIPTION
The nearly rectangular site is found at the northwest corner of State Route 99 and French Camp Road
in rural San Joaquin County. The site is bound to the west and north by the southbound Route 99 on-
ramp, to the east by Southbound Route 99, and to the south by French Camp Road. The vicinity of the
site is predominantly utilized for agricultural and industrial developments.
.. At the time of our field investigation, the site was noted to be relatively level except for a small Swale
near the southwest corner of the site and another Swale along the northern perimeter. The northern half
` of the site was covered with sparse weed growth. The southern extents of the site were covered with
crushed aggregate and exposed soil. A small structure, formerly utilized as a pump house, was
observed near the southwest corner of the site. Remnants of the subsurface well and piping system
were stock it d near the north central portion of the site.
GEOLOGIC SETTING
The subject site lies near the southern end of the Sacramento Valley portion of the Great Valley
Geomorphic Province. The Great Valley is bordered to the north by the Cascade and Klamath ranges,
1417 No.Market Blvd.,Suite 1 • Sacramento,CA 95834 • (916)568-5858 • Fax: (916)568-5813
