(_ June 27, 2005
NOA Project Number: E05087A
The surface and near surface soils located at the Site are reported by the San Joaquin County Soil Survey
to be composed of Acampo sandy loath, 0-2 % slopes and Tujunga loamy sand 0-2% slopes (Plate
8) (USDA, 1992). Table 3 presents some selected properties of these soils:
Table 3.
San Joaquin County Soil Survey
Selected Soil Properties of On-Site Soils.
{ Soil Name Depth Unified Soil Classification Salinity Soil Perme- Septic tank
l and Map (in) mmhos/cm Reaction ability absorption
Symbol pH (in/hr) fields
Acampo 0-19: Sandy loam;SM <2 6.1 -7.8 2.0-6.0 Fair:
sandy loam, 19-47: Sandy loam,fine sandy loam, <2 6.6-8.4 2.0-6.0 cemented
0-2% corse sandy loam;SM pan,thin
slopes,101. 47-49: Indurated --- --- --- layer.
! 49-60: Cemented
F
Tujunga 0-22: Loamy sand;SW-SM,SM,SP- <2 6.1 -7.3 6.0-20 Sever:poor
f loamy sand SM filter.
k 0-2% 22-67: Loamy sand,fine sand,sand; <2 6.1 -7.8 6.0-20
slopes,259. 1 SW-SM,SM,SP-SM
F11 Note:The table descriptions do not necessarily reflect site-specific soil properties.
5.1 Soil Boring Locations
A total of two soil borings were advanced to a depth of about three and a half feet on the Site. The
soil borings were later used for the percolation test holes; the locations of the borings are indicated
in Plate 1.
5.2 Soil Boring Dimensions
The soil borings were three and a half feet, as noted above, and were four inches in diameter.
5.3 Soil Lithology Observed
Generali the soil encountered in the boring is s'
y, g similar to the sods reported by the San Joaquin
County Soil Survey for the area (USDA, 1992).
