Referral, Page Two g. All recommendations of the soils engineer that were included in the soils report shall be incorporated in the construction drawings. h. Provide a copy of the Soils Report to the Building Inspection Division. i. The proposed project is located within an expansive soil area where a conventional foundation may not be suitable. Therefore, an engineer is required to evaluate the foundation design. j . The proposed project is located in a subsidence area where a conventional foundation may not be suitable. Therefore, a complete soils report by a geotechnical engineer is required. k. Provide a technical opinion and report to identify and develop methods of protection from the hazards presented by the hazardous material. (U.B.C. Section 901 (F) 2 . A grading plan shall be submitted and approved and a grading permit issued by the Building Inspection Division prior to performing any excavation or filling of earth material: a. A grading plan shall contain the information listed in the U.B.C. , Appendix, Chapter 70, Section 7006 (1) . b. The grading plan shall include complete drainage details and elevations of the adjacent parcels. Retaining wall details shall be submitted where applicable. C. Grading in excess of 5, 000 cubic yards shall comply with Section 7014 for "Engineered Grading Requirements . " d. All recommendations of the soils engineer shall be incorporated in the grading plans. e. All compaction reports must be submitted prior to a foundation insnection. f. All grading permits are subject to approval by the other departments . g. All grading authorized by the pe:-mit shall be approved prior to issuance of any building permits, or beginning cf any construction. Note: This application requires a discretionary approval, (e.g. Tentative Map, Site Approval, Use Permit) . Therefore, a gradinc permit will not be issued until this approval is obtained.
