The first
item concerns the installation of an additional leachfield in the vineyard to the north of the
subject property. It was suggested that after the Church reaches a membership of 600
Parishioners, this leachfield should be installed in the vineyard. The primary issue originates
from potential effluent overload of the leachfield on Sundays. Since there is considerable
variability in attendance on any given Sunday, it is our opinion that membership may not
accurately correlate with leachfield loading. To assess effluent loading under the subject
leachfield, we reference page 8, paragraph five of our report. We propose to investigate effluent
loading under different lengths of the leachline after two years of use to accurately determine the
need to install the vineyard leachfield at that point in time. Subsequent investigations may
continue on a scheduled basis. The "safety factor" built into the design of the septic system is to
have a two-inch tightline installed from the last septic tank, traversing under the parking area and
terminating at the vineyard. Therefore, if a problem with leachfield overloading occurs before
the scheduled investigation, a new leachfield can be installed promptly.
The second item of concern was the discharge of Baptistery water to the landscaping. To prevent
standing water which may create a nuisance, the water will be pumped to the south grass area
where it will be dispersed over the sloping terrain.
The third item was assurance that no garbage disposal or grinder will be installed in the kitchen.
All leftover food will be scraped from plates and utensils and placed in a garbage can.
We trust the above information satisfactorily addresses the concerns of Environmental Health. If
there are any questions, or need for additional information, please contact the undersigned.
Respectfully submitted,
Vi: ) EY AG USEARCH
DonnChhes` y, R.E.A.
cc: Mr. Larry Wenell- Wenell, Matheis and Bowe
P.O.
